The Sixth Fashion Colorworks 2015 Beading Contest
is over! This year 112 artists from 21 countries
submitted 156 beadworks - more than last year.
Unfortunately, at the end of June when the contest
seemed to finish, we encountered technical issue
and had to change our website histing company.
But we survived and finally made success!
We are grateful to the bead artists, the members
of the jury, the sponsors and all the fans and
MyLovelyBeads.com visitors for their contribution
to the development of bead art. THANK YOU for
your patience, creativity and generosity! We hope
to hold another Fashion Colorworks in 2016 and
look forward to seeing you next year!

What our jurors say
Eva Maria Keiser:
Congratulations and best wishes to the entrants
presenting their creative expressions to the
Fashion Colorworks Beading Contest 2015! I
appreciate Zoya's confidence in me as a juror.
It was an interesting experience.
Patrick Duggan:
I have been a Juror on the Fashion Colorworks
Beading Contest for two years and my job has
not become any easier this second year. All the
wonderful entries I rated in this years contest
have been so inspiring. It never ceases to amaze
me how people interpret designs with beads.
It seems like ideas are never ending.
The colors we had for this contest were
interesting. I personally would have had trouble
with a couple of the trios. Many contestants did
a terrific job in how they used them, especially
some of the soutache pieces. It is also wonderful
to see the non-jewelry entries and we had some
lovely, fun, quirky pieces this year!
My job as a juror has been very rewarding,
challenging at times, and I very much thank
Zoya for the opportunity in having me as a Juror.
Marsha Wiest-Hines:
I enjoy being a juror for Zoya’s Fashion
Colorworks Contest. I am always pleased with
the beautiful range of ideas and work presented
by entrants, and the finalists never disappoint. I
find it confirming that although each of the five
judges brings their own personal taste and
background to the questions asked when ranking
entries, we seem mostly to agree in our choices.
My congratulations to all of the finalist artists,
each deserving of praise.
My personal favorite of all the entries presented
this year was the Vesper Bell Necklace in the very
strong Finished Jewelry category. This artist uses
the colors in the group with accuracy, balancing
the Classic Blue and Scuba in a gentle dialog, and
accenting with the Glacier Gray.
The wide variety
of shapes, textures, and materials is synergistically
dynamic; a request for action. And best of all for
me, the translucent wing shapes call down a calm
welcome. I can almost hear the Vesper bells in
their presence. I ask the title of a work to show
me how to view it, and this piece for me rings of
perfection, both in intention, aesthetic, and
flawless technique!
