My name is Svetlana Paranina, I'm from the Russian Urals city of Perm. I seriously started making beaded jewelry in November 2009; before I sometimes have strung beads and a variety of findings into the simple necklaces, earrings and bracelets, and I liked this activity. From my childhood, I remember that my mother sewed and knitted very well, and my sister and I always had new costumes created by my mother's golden hands.

And what kind of pictures she embroidered using seed beads! Feast for the eyes! Until now, they are hanging in her living room on the walls, as in an art gallery. Now my mother spends little time for crafts because her vision is weak. Looking at her sewing or knitting, I'm also addicted to handworks, even tried to embroider paintings.

My daughter also loved craftwork. She began with polymer clay jewelry, but now makes a wonderful adornments from dried plants and epoxy resin. Once I saw her looking over Internet for pictures of jewelry made of Fimo, and also decided to look for something interesting for me. At that time I was doing the most ordinary unpretentious jewelry, but after visiting the well-known websites for beaders, I fell in love with beads, and I most urgently wanted to do something very beautiful.

I ran to the nearest store and bought there Chinese beads of different colors and sizes and acrylic beads. I remember I was very proud of my first "masterpiece" and I've worn the necklace made of beads for about a month. Then I found out where Czech beads are sold in my city and bought it, and began learning various techniques of beading. Slowly, from item to item, my jewelry became better; people liked it and they began to buy it. And then I started to go to the fairs, which took place in our city at the malls and I tried not to miss any of them. Not to say that I pursued a purely mercantile interest - it was just a pleasure to share the "fruits" of my hand work.

Three years later, I wanted to take part in any competition to test my skills, and my daughter found Fashion Colorworks 2013 for me. I chose one of the color triads there and began to think how to design a necklace. I immediately decided that it would be a necklace-transformer with a floral theme.

I made my entry necklace pretty quickly and easily, but coming up with the name for a long time. Funny, but that's true! And as someone whispered me in my dream, "Enchanted Garden." In the morning, I knew what name I would give to my necklace. And luckily for me, it was awarded the prize "Best Newbie", and my joy was endless!

I then decided that the next year I would participate in the Fashion Colorworks again. But before I had at least six months, and it seemed to me that I caught my luck, so then there was another international contest where my other work, "Enchanted Into Bird", was the winner.

And then on one of the beader's websites in honor of its 10th anniversary there was a competition "The Enchanted Forest", and again two of my beadworks have won first places in different categories: "Kingdom Of Rowan" and "Hostess Of Copper Mount"; and then on the same website my embroidery work "Horse 'Blizzard'" took the 3rd place in the New Year's contest "Year of the Horse".

And here again is my favorite competition - Fashion Colorworks 2014. This time I decided to make necklaces in three different color triads, and one of them, "Little Serenade", reached the final of the competition, and then took the 3rd place in the category Bead Jewelry! I really wanted to make an unusual and memorable necklace, so I decided that on a branch near the chrysanthemums there would be a 3-D blue bird with open beak. In order to make it seem like the bird really serenades, I hitched a neck bow tie, and it turned out to be not just a bird, but a love chick singer!

Thanks to the organizers of the Fashion Colorworks, every year I improve my skills and get acquainted with the works of many new artists, and "absorb" their experience. So, next year I will definitely participate again in such a wonderful contest!
